Known for skill and work ethic, the Warren County workforce of more than 17,000 (and labor shed of nearly 80,000) is in high demand throughout the upper Cumberland region. As local plant nurseries partner with Tennessee State University for plant science research, educators from across the country come here for mechatronics training that they can get only at Motlow State Community College.
With a $5.5 million grant from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, Motlow State is also building an Advanced Robotics Training Center to meet needs in the growing robotics sector. There are approximately 7,000 robots working within 75 miles of McMinnville, and the number is growing at a fast pace.
Tennessee's innovative workforce partnerships and education reform are developing qualified candidates for skills in high demand. Tennessee is leading the way in education reform by increasing the number of Tennesseans with college degrees or certifications through the Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect. As the first state in the country with these initiatives, Tennessee promises employers the support of highly skilled workers.

Schools & Education
Our trained workforce receives the most advanced training in mechatronics, robotics and other technologies. Bridgestone and other area companies and schools partner with Motlow State Community College to develop training programs that will prepare students for work in local industries and for two- or four-year degrees.
In order to support the development of a 21st century workforce, the Warren County Chamber of Commerce is bringing free STEM education camps to all rising 4th through 6th graders.
Postsecondary options include Tennessee State University, Motlow State and Tennessee College of Applied Technology.
